Practical Contract Drafting in English course with an experienced American lawyer

The Center for American Studies would like to invite you to participate in an intense certified weekend course with Mark Cohen, a practicing lawyer from the United States with 40 years of experience, titled “Practical Contract Drafting in English”.

The aim of this course is simple: to teach you how to draft contracts in English – from the first to the last clause.

The course will be held on Zoom on Friday, October 10 (17:30-20:30 CET) and Saturday, October 11 (14:00-18:00 CET), 2025.

CET is Warsaw/Rome/Berlin/Prague time.

Attorney Cohen will be connecting with us in real-time from the United States.

Because our “Practical Contract Drafting in English” course is taught by a litigator with 40 years of experience who can offer practical advice to help you improve your drafting, which will benefit you and your clients.

You will learn a new conceptual framework for thinking about contracts.

You will review dozens of examples of drafting mistakes and learn what NOT to do.

You will review common boilerplate provisions and understand the importance of each and the relationships between them.

You will gain a better understanding of how specific provisions can prevent disputes or maximize your client’s chances of success if litigation or arbitration is unavoidable.

You will learn the very real benefits of reducing legal jargon and using plain English.

You will learn how to shorten your contracts and make them more understandable by using plain English and by incorporating hyperlinks, schedules, and exhibits.

You will see that the distinction between transactional law and litigation is somewhat artificial because litigation in the business world is frequently the result of a flawed document.
