️THEME OF THE CONFERENCE

The main focus of the conference is to discuss the key contemporary problems of law, medicine, and/or psychology as well as their historical conceptualizations.

Presentations may be of an interdisciplinary nature, combining various fields of knowledge (e.g., law and medicine, law and psychology, psychology and medicine) but we also welcome topics that touch upon only *one* of the aforementioned disciplines (e.g., only medicine or only law or only psychology).

Proposed (example) thematic areas of your conference presentation:

  • The right to mental health – between patient protection and the limitation of personal freedom
  • Forensic psychiatry in practice – insanity defense, involuntary treatment, and ethical dilemmas
  • Burnout and stress among medical professionals and legal practitioners – psychological and systemic perspectives
  • Trauma and PTSD in legal contexts – criminal responsibility of victims and perpetrators
  • Mental disorders and legal capacity – psychology in the service of justice
  • Ethics and law at the end of life – terminal care, patient decisions, and the physician's role
  • Manipulation and memory in witness testimony – psychological pitfalls in legal proceedings
  • The child in the healthcare and legal systems – rights of minor patients and legal representation
  • Addiction from legal and therapeutic perspectives – compulsory treatment, therapy, reintegration
  • Modern technologies in medicine and psychology – legal and ethical challenges (telemedicine, AI)
  • The patient as a subject of law – autonomy, informed consent, and the right to information
  • The psychology of violence victims – defense mechanisms, mental impact, legal response

The above-mentioned areas are to be treated merely as examples. Feel free to go well beyond this list.

We believe in academic freedom and do not censor speeches. Original presentations will always gain interest from the Conference Committee.
