The conference is devoted to broadly understood issues of health, prevention, and treatment of diseases from an interdisciplinary perspective.

The aim of the conference is to create a space for reflection on the contemporary understanding of health and disease – both in a medical context and from the perspective of social sciences and humanities, such as law, psychology, pedagogy, economics, anthropology, and sociology. We will also discuss health and disease from the perspective of culture (games, fairy tales, films, TV series, music), literature, media, and art.

The event aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience between specialists in various fields, promoting the creation of joint strategies for improving the quality of healthcare and promoting a healthy lifestyle, as well as addressing health and illness issues in a comprehensive and effective manner.

Presentations may be based on your own or third-party research (review literature and research of others), as well as take the form of posters or case-studies.

We accept presentations in Polish and English.

• Medical students and doctoral students, medical professionals, lawyers, psychologists, and experienced researchers, as well as all others interested in the above-indicated fields of research can actively participate in the conference as speakers.
• Passive participants (audience) do not need to possess any prior academic knowledge or background.

➤ACTIVE PARTICIPATION (INFORMATION FOR CONFERENCE SPEAKERS)

Steps necessary to register for the conference as an active participant (conference speaker):

2️⃣Submit the above-mentioned Speaker Registration Form by 23.59 on April 19, 2027 (we will not extend this deadline).

🔒We reserve the right to select abstracts.

📣The results of the abstract selection process will be announced by April 20, 2027.

3️⃣Pay the conference fee to the bank account number that will be provided to the qualified speakers via e-mail. The fee must be paid by April 22, 2027 at the latest.

➤PASSIVE PARTICIPATION (CONFERENCE AUDIENCE)

Steps necessary to register for the conference by a passive participant (audience):

2️⃣Submit the Audience Registration Form by 23.59 on April 23, 2027. Failure to fill in the form will result in the inability to passively participate in the conference (and thus the inability to receive a passive conference participant certificate).

3️⃣Pay the audience fee to the bank account number that will be provided to you via e-mail. The fee must be paid by April 25, 2027 at the latest.

Don’t worry! Registered audience will have a chance to see the conference schedule with a full list of speakers and names of their presentations before submitting the conference fee. The schedule will be delivered to registered audience by email.

➤ SPEAKERS – 2 options:

• 239 PLN / 65 EUR – participation as a speaker + PDF electronic certificate sent via email (the electronic certificate bears the digital signatures of the members of the Conference Committee and the qualified Szafir electronic signature – the legal equivalent of a handwritten signature – of the President of the Board).

– OR –

• 269 PLN / 75 EUR – participation as a speaker + digital certificate + traditional certificate with a handwritten signature sent via post.

➤ AUDIENCE – 2 options:

• 139 PLN / 40 EUR – audience participation + PDF electronic certificate sent via email (the electronic certificate bears the digital signatures of the members of the Conference Committee and the qualified Szafir electronic signature – the legal equivalent of a handwritten signature – of the President of the Board).

Please use the following pattern when filling in the transfer title field when making the payment of your conference fee*:

* Failure to do so may result in delays in posting the fee on the appropriate account and, consequently, even exclude your participation in the conference.

In the case of a co-authorship of a presentation by two, three or more speakers, please pay the fee for each of the speakers separately.

The organizers anticipate the possibility of publication in the form of a monograph. However, such possibility will depend on the number of authors willing to publish their text (chapter) in a monograph. The price for participation in the conference does not include the publication fee.

• Our certificates are widely recognized in scholarship and grant procedures by public and private universities and other entities.
• It is possible to receive a VAT invoice (please request it in the registration form).
• If your participation in the conference is to be financed by the university (or other institution/company), we suggest that you pay for your participation from your personal funds and then obtain reimbursement from the university on the basis of an invoice issued by the Center to your university (institution/company).
• The fee is non-refundable (since it grants you the right of entry to the conference).
• The link to the online conference room will be made available to registered participants within 24 hours before the start of the conference.
• It is possible to deliver a conference presentation by two or more speakers (the fee should be multiplied by the number of speakers).
• It is possible to receive a certificate for co-authorship of research by individuals who do not present at the conference but have actively participated in the research presented at the conference. In order to receive such a certificate, it is required that (1) each co-author of the research pays the fee as for active participation, (2) each co-author of the research completes an active participation form with the indication of the other co-authors, and (3) the presenting participant (speaker) sends a documentary statement (e-mail) confirming the names of the non-presenting co-authors of the research at the conference and their academic affiliations.
• The presentation time is 15-25 minutes (depending on the fact of giving a solo or duet presentation and the total number of presentations during the conference).
• Paper certificates of participation will be sent by traditional mail up to two (Poland) months from the end of the conference – due to the approaching scholarship deadlines, we will attempt to send them even faster.
• Digital certificates are sent within a week from the end of the conference to *all* participants.
• Each participant will receive a certificate on the composition of the Conference Committee.
• Each participant will receive a certificate confirming the status of the Center for American Studies / Center for Medical Studies as a scientific society engaged primarily in independent and continuous scientific activity, along with a complete list of the members of the Academic Council.
• In addition to the certificates and the confirmation of the composition of the Academic Council, all participants will also receive a Book of Abstracts bearing an official ISBN (International Standard Book Number). The Book of Abstracts may be attached to the certificate as part of scholarship and grant application procedures.

Preparing your abstract in accordance with these guidelines increases the chances of a positive review and acceptance to present at the conference as a speaker.

• The exact time of speaking at the conference is pre-determined by the Organizer (it will be not possible to change the time of your conference presentation set in the conference schedule).
